School Policies and Student Information

Welcome, and we look forward to serving you now and throughout your real estate career! By registering and/or attending classes at REALTOR® Academy, you agree to the following policies and information.

Qualifying (Pre-Licensing) Course Policies & Student Information

By registering and/or attending classes at REALTOR® Academy, you agree to the following policies and information.

All courses are approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) for a real estate salesperson or broker’s license. Note: Students must submit their own certificates for qualifying and Sales Agent Apprentice Education (SAE) completions.

Tuition for qualifying and SAE courses is a flat rate of $169, per course. Tuition includes any books, a PDF of the book, handouts and exam proctoring as required* (Some courses use the same book, only one will be provided). *Exam proctoring is included for first atempt exams. Subsequent, failed, and make-up exam proctoring fee is $25.

  • Weekday Schedule: Two (2) day schedule (2 days in classroom). Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. the first day of class*; Class hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Or, four (4) day schedule (4 days in classroom). Class hours: 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
  • Evening Schedule: Four (4) day schedule: Check-in is at 5:30 p.m. the first day of class*. Class hours: 6 p.m.-10 p.m. each day.

*Students must check in prior to class start time.

Registration deadline is 2 days prior to class start. Books can be picked up 2 days prior to class start, if in person. Payment is to be rendered at the time of registration. Seats will not be reserved without payment. If a student does not show for scheduled class, he/she may be assessed a $35 no show/late fee. If a student arrives for class and is late, and there is small room in the class, the student may enter the class on the basis of doing the makeup time and will not be allowed to take the test until all required time is made up (no penalty applies).
Any course/class may be cancelled for insufficient enrollment or other reasons. In the event of cancellation, all fees paid will be promptly refunded in full or will be applied to another class at the registrants’ discretion.
Full atendance is REQUIRED for all courses. If a student is tardy or absent from any session, he/she must make up the time missed before credit is given. Make-up periods must be scheduled with staff and officially documented. Acceptable make up includes atending the time/period missed in a subsequent offering of the same course. Make-ups must be completed before the final exam can be administered. Make-up MUST be completed within ninety days. Under 535.65 (g)(1)(D) Rules of the Texas Real Estate Commission, the student must atend 2/3 of the class. If the student misses more then 1/3 of the class (10 classroom hours), he/she will be dropped from the course(s) and will not be allowed to make-up course time. No refund will be given.
While atending courses/classes, students are required to behave in a professional and courteous manner. Staff and instructors reserve the right to remove a student from the classroom for behavior non- conducive to a learning environment and that of which is distracting or detrimental to fellow students. If a student is removed from training, either voluntarily or at staff/instructor discretion, refund of tuition for the course will be returned in accordance with school policy.
A full refund will be applied to any registrant who has paid tuition and canceled prior to 2 business days of a course. A refund, less a $35 service fee* will be applied within 2 business days of a course. Students withdrawing from a course after class begins will receive a partial refund of 50% of the tuition. Requests for refunds shall be made no later than 1 business day from cancelation. *Fees may be waived by staff due to extenuating circumstances.

A student who has previously completed a qualifying course within six (6) months (beginning from the start date of the course from which tuition had been paid), may audit all or part of a subsequent offering of the same course at no cost within that six
(6) month period.

A score of 70% or greater is required to pass all qualifying course examinations. If a student does not pass an examination, he/she may retake an examination one time. A retesting fee* of $25 will be charged. Make-up and retests must be completed within 90 days of the termination/end of the original course. Please note that books & notes are prohibited from being used on final exams.
The REALTOR® Academy follows and promotes the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics, specifically in the areas of Honesty, Integrity, and Honor. Your education should represent genuine learning. Students are expected to be independently familiar with course material and to recognize that their work in the course is their own work that truthfully represents the time and effort applied. Students lacking academic integrity will be removed from the classroom and/or from the course and no refund will be given.

REALTOR® Academy is open to the public. Real estate experience is not required for admission. Admissions are accepted without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, handicap or familial status.

Guests are not permitted in classrooms, (i.e., spouses, children, etc.) In addition, children/infants are not allowed on campus during instructional periods. With the exception of service animals,. Pets and animals are not allowed inside the premises.

Students may use tobacco in the designated smoking area during scheduled breaks. This includes use of smokeless tobacco and electronic cigaretes. Tobacco and cigarete use is prohibited inside the building.

This school aims to create a neutral environment, therefore agent solicitation or recruitment is not encouraged or permitted where classes are held. Solicitation and/or recruiting of any kind* is not permitted in the classrooms by students, instructors, or others. Violations should be reported to school staff.

*SABOR’s Business Development and Programs department may authorize Affiliate members to present to students on a voluntary basis outside the scheduled course of instrution.

In accordance with Section 53.152 of the Texas Occupations Code, a criminal history may make you ineligible for a Texas Real Estate license. You have a right to request a Fitness Determination (FD) prior to applying for a license or registering for courses pertaining to licensure.   • Login/check-in for class begins 20 minutes before the start time and ends once the class has begun.
  • Students must be logged in and their identification verified BEFORE the stated class start time. For example, checking in at 9 a.m. for a class that begins at 9 a.m. may result in a refusal of services.
  • Students’ faces must be visible on camera AT ALL TIMES during the course to receive credit.
  • If for some reason you lose connection, log back into the class as soon as possible. If the instructor is disconnected, please remain in the class and allow them to log back in.
  • The virtual class environment should be treated the same as an in-person class. Students may not take phone calls, conduct business, drive or be a passenger in a vehicle, attend other meetings or similar activities.
  • Students must be active in the class and provide their full attention to the course. INSTRUCTORS will provide time for breaks and lunch (if applicable). During the provided times, students may take care of calls, emails, etc. Note: Do NOT log out at any time during class.
  • Students may not “step away” from the camera for any reason during the course without communicating with the instructor. If an emergency arises, please use the “CHAT” feature to privately notify the instructor or staff of your situation.
  • Students are responsible for the performance of their own technology including audio volume, video clarity, and reliable internet connection. We will use the ZOOM platform. For more information about ZOOM please check the website at www.zoom.us. Video, audio, and internet access are all needed to successfully “ATTEND” class.
  • Your camera must remain stable and UNREMOVED during the course broadcast. Excessive camera movement is distracting and may result in a student’s removal from the class at the instructor’s discretion.
  • Students will be responsible for completing an evaluation and returning the document within 24 hours to the REALTOR® Academy.
  • Failure to adhere to these policies and/or the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) rules pertaining to education may result in removal from the course, CE credit not reported to TREC, and non-refundable tuition.
  • All courses require the use of electronic devices such as a laptop or tablet. Please bring your own device with you to participate.
  • Arrive and check in 20 minutes before the start of class.
  • Bring a picture ID such as a driver’s license or other issued ID. Staff must check IDs for the issuance of TREC credit.
  • Be present for the entirety of the class, please do not take phone calls, conduct business, or any activity that is not part of the class.
  • Students must be active in the class and provide their full attention to the course. Instructors will provide time for breaks and lunch (if applicable). During the provided times, students may take care of calls, emails, etc.
  • Students are responsible for the performance of their own technology and electronic devices.
  • Students will be responsible for completing an evaluation on the course and instructor. Evaluations will be sent via email to students and completed electronically.
  • Payment is to be rendered at the time of registration. Seats will not be reserved without payment. If a student does not appear for class by the designated start time, his/her seat will be given to a student on the waiting list or to a walk-in student. If a student arrives after the class has started and the class is full and his/her seat has been filled, he/she will not be allowed to attend the class.
  • Each participant must determine if this course is timely and appropriate for his/her CE requirements. Double-check the license expiration date and/or review the license renewal notice from TREC.
  • Failure to adhere to these policies and/or the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) rules pertaining to education may result in removal from the course, CE credit not reported to TREC, and non-refundable tuition.

Our blended learning courses is designed to help students achieve their desired learning goals efficiently and effectively. The courses are instructor led or student-centered. Students are expected to spend 15-hours studying the material, completing quizzes,  and interactive exercises to complete the final proctored exam.  Exams can be proctored by the REALTOR® Academy in-person or via a 3rd party.  For more information regarding proctoring services please contact REALTOR® Academy  210-593-1275.
